What's your mantra?

Every day, at least once, I say to myself (and, sometimes out loud):

"I am so happy and grateful that I am surrounded by like-minded people dedicated to higher awareness and taking action that makes a positive difference in the world."

I am very conscious of repeating this over and over and it's become a ritual for me. The really cool thing is that as I look around, that's what I see. I'm finding that people are attracted to that energy, and it's a much more fulfilling way to live.

If you're not consciously filling your mind with a mantra, your subconscious is doing it for you. And more often than not, that subconscious is at a lower awareness level, filling up with stories from the past which aren't even true anymore (and may never have been true).

Our minds cannot hold two thoughts at the same time: one will always dominate. If you're not consciously filling your mind with positive and uplifting thoughts, gravity will pull them down. It's just what is.

So get into the ritual of telling yourself the way you are when you've achieved the goals and dreams you've set for yourself. How do you feel? What do you see? What do you hear? Put yourself in that space of already having achieved your goal and create your mantra - in the present tense - from that place. Who are you when you've arrived? Start your mantra with "I am so happy and grateful that ..." and make sure to word it in the present tense. BE who you are becoming and your mind will get familiar with that new place. It doesn't know the difference between what is real and what is only imagined, so condition it in the way you intend. Don't let it fall back into old habits.

I'm ready for an additional mantra and will be adding it in the new year, so watch for updates here.

In the meantime, get going on your own. Be conscious of who you are being during random portions of your day. You can notice who you are being by how you are feeling. If you're upset and frustrated, who is that person? Who would you rather be? Go there in your mind and listen to that person. Create a mantra from there and begin the conditioning process.

Those upset and frustrations really are gifts if we're awake to receive them. Notice where you're not where you want to be and catch the message.

Here's to an OUTSTANDING 2012 ... begin today to set that future and you'll be certain to start on the right foot!
